Alfred Palomares

As Vice President, Merchandising and Resident Plant Dad, Alfred oversees product strategy, product presentation, assortment planning and analytics reporting for 1-800-Flowers.com. Alfred has been surrounded by flowers and plants for over ten years in his daily work life.

Under his leadership, the brand continues to develop unique offerings that help advance its position as the industry leader in product innovation. He also serves as the co-lead for 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc.’s Enterprise Merchandising Council.

Alfred has an extensive background in merchandising and planning with over 20 years of retail experience. Prior to joining 1-800-Flowers.com in 2013, he spent 11 years as Merchandising Director with Godiva Chocolatier, where he managed merchandising activity for e-commerce, retail and wholesale channels across North America.

Alfred currently lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn. He has an eclectic collection of indoor plants that he has named “The Shady Ladies” as they thrive in an environment with indirect lighting. One of his favorite indoor plants is a rubber plant that he grew from a cutting that a friend gifted to him years ago and is now close to 6 feet tall. He also enjoys cultivating his backyard garden which includes perennials such as hostas and hydrangeas, as well as seasonal flowering plants like geraniums to give his yard a pop of color.
